              DIAMANT HISTORY IN THE MAKING

By setting up a „production of Natural Shoes“ in 1873, the master shoemaker Eberhard Müller laid the foundation for a 130 year long history of shoemaking.
The shop was located in Frankfurt/Main, Ziegelgasse 12.

He, as well as his son Otto Müller manufactured a shoe which fit the natural shape of the foot, named „angulus“ (from the Greek “angle”).
Angulus shoes were also manufactured under license in Schweinfurt / Main and in Switzerland, which made them wellknown beyond the German border.

On September 5th 1938 Otto Müller purchased the Patos-shoe factory in Frankfurt and produced Angulus shoes himself along with the fashionable Patos ladies´shoes.

After the end of the war in Mai 1945, Otto Müller jun. took over the management and build up the ruined factory in Frankfurt.
The well known quality of Angulus shoes was produced again to „latest chic and facon“, with well motivated workers.

In 1957, searching for a suitable premises, Otto Müller jun. acquired land at the edge of the Taunus and in summer1985 the new shoe factory in Bad Soden could be opened. The company dropped “ Patos” from its name and was now called “Angulus, Otto Müller KG”.
Bride and evening shoes came from angulus.

Meanwhile the 4th generation had grown up and son Thomas had finished his training as a shoe designer at the ARS Sutoria in Milan.

He took over the management of the shoe factory in 1979.
.
Since 1975 the production of dance shoes has been added.

Cutting-edge technologies in the manufacturing of shoes and computer.aided design provide ample opportunities to create more than one thousand variations from a broad array of models, materials, heels and width.

Despite High Tech, the Diamant shoe is still a product in which a lot of handcraft is involved, fabricated in up to 40 work steps.
Up to now, Diamant has supplied 2,1 million dance and ballroom shoes to dealers in 26 countries on 4 continents
